[Dr. Miho Inagaki] We are entering an era where we "prevent" childhood myopia from progressing.

Our clinic offers several treatment options aimed at slowing the progression of myopia. These include eye drops such as Rejuceamini (a low-concentration atropine), orthokeratology (wearable during sleep to correct daytime vision while slowing progression), and Mysight (daily multifocal soft contact lenses worn during the day). We can tailor treatment options to your child's lifestyle. We also offer red light therapy, which has gained attention recently and is becoming a popular new treatment option.
Furthermore, from June 2026, eyeglasses specifically for myopia management (so-called myopia management eyeglasses) will also be approved domestically, making them suitable for younger children and those who have difficulty wearing contact lenses.
It is important to continue any treatment long-term. Each treatment has its own indications and characteristics, and it is crucial to choose the method that is right for each child. At our clinic, we conduct thorough examinations and explanations, and work with families to consider the best option. If you have any concerns about your child's eyesight, please do not hesitate to consult us.
Through lectures and information dissemination in the community, I have conveyed the importance of "protecting children's eyes." The ability to see is the foundation of learning and growth. I will continue to dedicate myself to daily medical practice in order to protect the visual function of children who represent the future.
