It looks natural even on snowy mountains or cloudy skies—Purity experience from ski instructor H in his 60s

Preoperative visual acuity: Right) 0.08 Left) 0.1 → Postoperative visual acuity: Right) 1.0 Left) 1.2

Q1. How was your vision before the surgery?
I was originally nearsighted and could not see without glasses or contact lenses, but about two years ago, my left eye started to look blurry, like I was looking through frosted glass. At first, I thought it was just eye fatigue, so I waited and saw how it would go, but before the season started, I started having trouble seeing signs, so I decided to have surgery as it could affect my safety while skiing.
Q2. What were your expectations when you chose Purity?
I had originally consulted another eye doctor, but they couldn't offer the multifocal lenses I wanted, so I started gathering information to broaden my options. Chukyo Eye Clinic recommended adjustable lenses, but I felt that for a job like skiing, where you have to instantly judge the contrast between near and far, I wanted to prioritize "natural vision." After watching Dr. Kojima's YouTube videos, I was convinced that his lenses would suit my lifestyle, so I decided to see him.
"We placed importance on visibility at dusk and clarity at night, and ultimately chose Purity."
Q3. Were you worried about having the surgery?
I was a little worried because the PureC lenses had only just been introduced, but the doctors carefully explained the simulation to me during my consultation, and I felt they were trustworthy.
"In the end, I'm really glad I entrusted it to Dr. Kojima."
Q4. How was the progress after the surgery?
After surgery on my right eye, I used contact lenses for a week, but I found it a little difficult to see things close up. When I consulted with Dr. Nakamura, he suggested that micro monovision might be a good option, and I ended up using PureC for both eyes. The way the light enters is natural, and the distance to use a smartphone (about 40cm) is comfortable. Even small text can be seen clearly when light is shone on it.
Q5. How does your vision change now and how has your life changed?
There is no glare or halo when driving at night, and the vision is natural even in everyday life. I also enjoy windsurfing and Pilates in the off-season, and I can maintain stable vision even when the weather changes.
"I can now teach with confidence even on cloudy days in the snowy mountains. The contrast reproduction is excellent."
Q6. Who would you recommend this to?
This is especially recommended for those who play sports or engage in outdoor activities. Contrast is clearer, just like when I was younger, and it's easier to see details. It's also ideal for those who don't mind micro monovision and want a more natural view.
"Even if it costs a little more, you'll be pleased with the results."
