[Director Nakamura] Life and death

In April of this year, my first grandchild was born.
He is a healthy boy and is growing quickly.
And the other day, my father passed away.
97 years old and 8 months old.It was a great death.

Now, looking at both of them, I felt as if I had learned anew the ``truth of life,'' what it means to live and what death is.

After my grandchild was born, he began to drink milk, react to things, sit up on his head, crawl on all fours, and roll over in his sleep. From now on, the baby will probably eat baby food, sit, hold hands, and eventually walk.

Meanwhile, my father's legs gradually became weaker and he had to use a cane to walk, and it became difficult for him to walk.He became unable to eat or drink water, and finally died as if withered. This is what is called old age. This was a reversal of his grandchild's birth and growth process.

It was possible to prolong his life with intravenous fluids and tube feeding, but out of respect for his dignity, we decided to leave him as is.However, while it was painful for the family to watch and do nothing, intervening with modern medicine seemed to go against bioethics.

Black Jack tries to save his dying teacher, Mr. Jotaro Honma, but it doesn't work, and the phantom of Mr. Honma appears next to him and says, ``It's presumptuous for humans to let living things live and die freely.'' Don't you think so?'' was recalled.

My father must have returned to his mother's womb, following the laws of nature.
